The Angelina College Career and Technical Center in Crockett, Texas began its second academic year on August 27, 2012.  With a second straight fall enrollment of well over one hundred students, the Crockett Center helps serve the educational needs of increasing numbers of students from Houston County and surrounding areas.  Also, a greater number of area high school students are enrolled in college courses than before the opening of the Center.

Students at the Crockett Center are able to take courses leading to one of many associate degree and certificate programs offered by Angelina College.  In addition, many students take classes at the Crockett Center that they plan to transfer to other institutions of higher education.  Crockett students enroll in a wide range of courses in English, math, foreign language, government, history, criminal justice, psychology, speech, and other areas.  The Crockett Center also offers all courses required for the Basic Certificate in Welding Technology.  These courses range from Intro to Welding Fundamentals to Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding.

The newest course offerings in Crockett include General Biology and Anatomy and Physiology I and II.  These courses complement the nursing degree programs conducted by Angelina College in classrooms at East Texas Medical Center in Crockett.  Nursing students who complete the Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program may continue as students in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program in Crockett.  With the addition of biology classes at the Crockett Center, these ADN students may now complete most of the required general education and technical courses in Crockett.

The Crockett Center also hosts classes through the Community Services Division of Angelina College.  Houston County residents have signed up for continuing education classes in welding, art, cake decorating, flower arranging, conversational Spanish, computer-related areas and more.

With the opening of the Crockett Center, Angelina College is pleased to serve a greater role in meeting the educational needs of Houston County residents.  Prospective students are encouraged to contact the Crockett Center for enrollment information at 936-544-0055, or by visiting the Crockett Center located at 1505 S 4th Street (S Loop 304 & Hwy 19 S).  A listing of degree programs, course schedules and other information can be found at
